Built in Jos. Working across disciplines.
An institute and a workshop sharing the same building, the same equipment, and the same technicians. We train the next generation while we service the current one.
Why we started.
Nigeria has no shortage of vocational schools. We started Fiitech because most of them have a structural problem: they teach about the work without doing the work. Students sit through lectures, watch demonstrations, take exams, and emerge with certificates. But they've rarely fixed an actual car, installed an actual solar system, or repaired an actual ECU. We wanted to do it differently.
Our solution was direct: run both sides of the operation. Fiitech operates as a working technical workshop and as a training institute at the same address, with the same people, using the same equipment. Students learn diagnostics by diagnosing real customer vehicles. They learn solar installation by installing actual systems. They learn ECU programming using the same KESS V2 and K-TAG tools used in professional workshops. When they graduate, they've already done the work. Not just read about it.
Three things we believe.
- Skill is what matters
- Paper qualifications open doors. Skill keeps people in the room. We focus on producing technicians who can actually do the work, in the belief that demonstrated capability beats credentials in the long run.
- Theory needs practice
- Understanding why a sensor works is useful. Knowing what to do when one fails is essential. We weave both together. Never theory alone, never practice without context.
- Customers and students reinforce each other
- Our students benefit from working on real vehicles and real installations. Our workshop customers benefit from technicians who are deeply engaged because they're also teachers. The two sides reinforce each other.
Two sides of the same operation.
